Multiple pathways to multiple goals
Lady Andal Open School’s vision is to help equip students with the skills needed to become contributing members of the society, keeping in mind the specific development requirements or other constraints faced by children.
The Early Intervention program starts with children as young as 1-3 years old. All children are given the comprehensive MARG assessment which helps determine the best course of action for a child’s developmental needs. Early identification of development goals helps with course correction at an early stage, allowing the child to integrate more completely with mainstream society.
Children from the ages of 3 to 11 are provided common schooling programs that are certified under various government initiatives. The pre-primary & primary school programs, teach learners a combination of academics and various other extra-curricular life-skills. The academic curriculum is based on the Government of Tamil Nadu’s State board curriculum (Samacheer Kalvi).
Post completion of the primary schooling, students who show academic inclination and abilities can pursue scholastic achievements by completing middle, secondary and senior secondary schooling, based on the Central Government’s internationally recognized National Institution of Open Schooling (NIOS) curriculum. Students have the option to migrate to a regular, mainstream school or to pursue vocational training, at any point during this period.
Students who are inclined to various other activities, such as arts and crafts, are ideally suited for pursing functional academics. The functional academic programs includes pre-vocational and vocational training with five separate programs being offered to learners. This allows students to express themselves using other skills that eventually can lead to employment and self-sustenance.
Therapy Programs
The Lady Andal Open School provides various therapy-based programs for children with cognitive, language and physical developmental needs. The programs are Physiotherapy, Occupational and Speech therapy that is conducted by trained and certified professionals of the Lady Andal Open School.
Pre-vocational & vocational training programs
The Lady Andal Open School offers five vocational training programs across arts and crafts that allows students to graduate and start careers of their own and become contributing members of society.
